MAC Warehouse Sale (aka Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale)

My besties and I were in Toronto, Canada for a fun girl's weekend. I got us some tickets to attend the MAC Warehouse Sale aka Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale.

This event is not open to the general public, an invitation is required for entry. We left our hotel around 7am, we arrived at the Markham Fairgrounds around 8am. There were 362 people in front of us and the door didn't open until 9am. The guard let in the 1st 360 people in, once they started to filter into room 2 they let the second group in - I was 3rd in that second group. We presented our tickets and received a bag to place our goodies in.

The sale is in a 4 building warehouse; 3 rooms of product - the 1st room is a standing room. The 1st room contained makeup bags, concealers, skincare products, nail colors, and fragrance. The second room contained eyeshadow compacts, hello kitty items, fragrance gift sets, makeup gift sets (pigments, lip bags etc.), skincare, eye shadows, pigments, brushes, foundation, and brushes. The third room contained face compacts, skincare, lip products, and misc. items in a $3 section. The third room also housed the check out lanes, charity section, and free gift section.

My final stop in New York; MAC Pro. I wanted to pick up a few pro store only items, but I found a few surprises.

Makeup Forever Haul (NY Haul Part 2)

My second stop in New York, the Makeup Forever boutique. I was like a kid in a candy store - the colors were so intoxicating! I wanted to get EVERYTHING, but I knew I'd be back so I only picked up want I felt to be pertinent at that moment.

I purchased an eye shadow palette, 8 eye shadow pans (colors: 4, 311, 167, 52, 58, 160, and 92-x's 2), 2 Aqua eye pencils (colors: 0L and 21L), eye lashes, foundation, and a spatula.

Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale (NY Haul Part 1)

Over the weekend, my best friend and I went to the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sales. This event is not open to the general public, an invitation is required for entry.

At 6am, we headed for New York. The drive from Philly wasn't too bad. I set the cruise controls and relaxed on the journey up the NJ Turnpike.

Once we arrived at the location, we parked and went inside. We presented our tickets along with our id's. We grabed a box (used for our finds) and headed in.

My first stop, the MAC eye shadow bin. This was a metal bin filled with pre-packaged MAC eye shadows; there were three in each pack for $10.00. Next, I found myself at a section of the warehouse that contained all types of Bobbi Brown makeup cases; I picked up a brush box for %5.00. I then headed arounfd the corner and picked up a Sean John Fragrance gift set for $45.00. My last stops was a table filled with items from the MAC Couture Collection and MAC brushes. . I got a MAC 182 brush from the Couture Collection for $15.00 and Magnificient Lipgloss from the Couture Collection for $6.50. I also picked up 2 MAC 187 brushes for $20.00 each.

Picture 1 contains the new and improved E.L.F. lashes, picture 2 contains they older E.L.F. lahes and picture 3 gives you a side by side comparison.

E.L.F. Cosmetics lashes are of great quality. The hair quality can be compared to the leading drug store brands such as Andrea’ and Ardell. The only imperfection with the final product was the strip; whit thread. Yes, I said “White Thread”. I spent valuable time coloring the white thread to black by using cream gel eyeliners. That’s now a thing of the past.

E.L.F. Cosmetics truly listened to their valuable customers and revamped their product. The lashes still have the same great hair quality, but the strip is now BLACK. The best part of the revamp is the price; still a buck!

Customers often complain about the glue quality, I’d suggest investing in DUO adhesive. DUO is sold at drugstores cosmetics retailers such as Rite Aid, CVS, Ulta, Sephora, and MAC ranging from $4.00 to $7.00.

I was a little disappointed with this collection. Of the seven colors, I only purchased three - one of which I wanted to return, but instead gave it to my sister. I picked up Hot Planet, Intenso, and Earth to Earth. Intenso is a very beautiful color; best of the collection. Earth to Earth is another great color, perfect for an every-day face. Hot Planet is ok, nothing special.

Getting to know You: That type of skin are you in?

Knowing your skin type is essential in order to make correct decision about skin care, treatment, cosmetics etc. Your initial skin type is genetic, but the health of your skin depends on what you eat & how you take care of yourself.

Generally, there are 5 basic skin types: normal, dry, oily, combination, and sensitive. To determine your skin type wipe your face with a clean facial tissue first thing in the morning.

1. Normal Skin …
If you skin belongs to a normal type, the tissue will not reveal any traces of oil. Your skin should feel vibrant, elastic, and supple. Normal skin is the least problematic type.It looks clean and smooth and has a good circulation and healthy complexion. Even with a minimum care, it will look good well into your advanced age.

2. Dry Skin …
If your skin is dry, the paper will be clean, too, but your face skin will feel flaky, dry, and tight after you have wiped it.Dry skin can easily develop a sallow tone, wrinkles, and fine pores, and it is very prone to aging and irritating. It might still look great on a young person, but, to keep it healthy, you should apply thorough care and use regular treatment with natural masks and moisturizers.

3. Oily Skin …
If you have oily skin, the will have spots of facial oil on it, corresponding to the areas of your cheeks, nose, and forehead.
